For most files, with two participants, it means $100 + HST per hour, per person. I don’t charge clients for short emails, quick questions, or administrative work. You will know about each piece of work I do, and every fee before it happens. Access to justice is essential, and I've built that into my practice. You can do the math yourself. Instead of retaining two lawyers, each billing $250-$300 + HST (or more) per hour, you simply split my rate. Flat-Fee Rates I recommend a flat-fee for some files, especially where my work is predictable, or short-term. You can also request a flat-fee. The advantage to a flat-fee is that you will know the total fee in advance.
